Brandon Flowers and Kenny Aronoff Recording Together

It appears that Kenny Aronoff is playing drums on some portion of Brandon’s second solo album.

Given that Brandon will definitely be in Los Angeles, CA for GeorgeFest 2014 this Sunday, it’s possible that Brandon has been working with Aronoff in his Uncommon Studios in LA for the past week.

Aronoff posted the following photo and text on Instagram on September 20, 2014:

David Massey Teases Brandon Flowers Second Solo Album

David Massey, president of Island Records, teased Brandon Flowers forthcoming second solo album this evening on Instagram.

Massey posted the following photo with the text below:

Two takes on the sheet music Brandon Flowers tweeted yesterday have surfaced.  The first one can be heard above and comes from this Dropbox account.

The second take comes from this NoteFlight account.

As has been pointed out by numerous Victims who have listened to these two takes, the sheet music appears to be for a backing track or a component of the chorus for ‘Desired Effect’.

Unfortunately, I was unable to trace these two takes back to their original uploaders.  If you are responsible for the creation of either of these two takes and would like me to credit you, please let me know.

Brandon Flowers Tweets Again, Names New Song?

Brandon Flowers tweeted again this afternoon; this time a picture of sheet music.  At the top of this page was the date, his name, and ‘Desired Effect’.  In my opinion, it’s possible ‘Desired Effect’ is the working title of the composition pictured.

Brandon Flowers Tweets, Alludes to ‘Posse on Broadway’ by Sir Mix-A-Lot?

Brandon Flowers tweet from earlier today appears to reference the 1988 song, ‘Posse on Broadway’, by Sir Mix-A-Lot.  This track featured on his debut album, ‘Swass’.

In the picture above, a Roland TR-808 Rhythm Composer is depicted.  This was one of the first programmable drum machines and was released in early 1980.  This machine is also mentioned in ‘Posse on Broadway’.

Given that Brandon states ‘My posse’s still on Broadway.’, he may be alluding to some sort of connection or influence derived from this song or the location mentioned in this song, Seattle’s Capitol Hill district.

Rumor: Brandon Flowers to Tour Second LP in Spring of 2015?

Brandon Flowers may be set to tour his second solo album in the Spring of 2015.

If this information proves to be true, then Brandon’s second solo LP album would likely be released somewhere in between January- March of 2015.  While Brandon has already confirmed that his second solo album would be released in ‘early’ 2015, this new information gives us a more accurate range in which to expect the release of his second LP.

The above information is off handedly mentioned in the Facebook post below:
